COVID-19 Safety
for in-person programming with The Bitove Method
We will do all within our power to provide an environment for everyone to engage in safely. Please read the below COVID-19 safety policies thoroughly to ensure you are aware of the measures we are taking to protect our participants, their family and friends, and our staff.
Last updated March 22, 2023
Vaccination
We ask that all participants, staff, and carepartners in the space be vaccinated and consider getting vaccinated to protect our community. However at this point in time, we do not require proof of vaccination.
Masking
For the entire duration of our program all people including staff, participants, and care partners will be required to wear a mask.
Note that masks may be removed temporarily for eating and drinking at snack time.
Social Distancing
We continue to balance the needs of participants with the needs for social distancing. We recognize the importance of physical support for some of our community members, yet continue to avoid hugging, holding hands, etc. when not necessary. We are prepared with hand sanitizer should hand-holding occur.
If a participant requires any personal care or direct, continuous physical assistance to engage or mobilize within the space they will need to be accompanied by a carepartner.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
Hand sanitizer will be provided and offered throughout the program. We will also be maintaining a process of sanitizing objects, surfaces, etc. Should any objects be shared between people in the space, we will provide hand sanitizer afterwads.
Discolusre and Self-Isolation after COVID
Should you have symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you refrain from coming to our space. Further, if you have a positive COVID-19 test within three days of attending our program, we ask that you please inform us so that we may reach out to our community and let them know there was a risk of exposure.
If you have contracted Covid-19, Public Health guidelines dictate that staff, participants, or carepartners, must NOT attend our in-person program for 10 days after either the first onset of symptoms, or the first positive Covid-19 test.
See the Public Health website here for more information.
Acknowledgement
We recognize these added safety measures may have an impact on your ability to participate, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please know that these protocols, while important for us now, will not be in place forever - we will adjust and follow the measures provided to us by Toronto Public Health and the guidelines for Ontario Adult Day Programs.
